When you're going somewhere you've never been, you use a map. To use a map, you've got to know where you're starting from. If you're confused about where you're starting from, you might not be able to get to where you want to go. But if you can be crystal clear about where you're starting from, getting to your destination will be easy.
This spread is inspired by the first part of Al Link and Pala Copeland's 'Creative Tension Exercise' in their FANTASTIC book, "Soul Sex: Tantra for Two". This is an exercise to feel the difference between where we are now and where we want to go. When we can gain awareness about the differences between now and our ideal future, we'll recognize the turns we need to take when we come to them.
To understand with crystal clarity where we are now, we need to tease apart the reality of our situation from the stories we tell ourselves. For example, the fact may be that we need to pay the bills, but the story might be that the only way to pay the bills is doing the job we don't like.
The Tarot is a wonderful tool for gaining perspective on our experience of the present time. Hence, I created this spread:
Also, I'd love to take this spread for a spin here! If you're interested in volunteering for a reading on my blog, just engage with me here, at my personal blog, or on twitter. I'd love to exchange energy with you!
